:eek:AAARRRRGGGGHHHH!
I just removed the dust from my H2 CD and reinstalled it, then i see there is a HW server, but I cant find HW download!!!! WHERE IS IT?????? Wasnt there a downloads section on this site somewhere before? I see there is the "Review Center" wich has some downloads, but there is almost nothing for H2 there. Where has everything gone? All the maps? The mods? HW? Siege?

Kor,
Get the files at http://www.hexenworld.com/stables/essent.htm
I believe those links still work to fileplanet.
Yes the HWcycle was written by you and it has been working fine and I was looking for a solution on HexenII as well. Could I just copy the files, hwprogs.dat and string.txt, into the data1 folder and rename the hwprogs.dat to progs.dat. I will back up the originals first, but have not seen a solution to a DM map rotation for Hexen II.

No you cant. The data is not the same.
What needs to be done is copy the map rotation entries from strings.txt (copy only this, as the other strings might not be the same). For progs.dat, you need the HexenC source for H2 progs.dat and recompile it with
my code. If i cant find my files (long time i didnt code for H2, need to remember where i put my source codes) i could probably port it to H2 and/or PoP.
Which version of H2 do you want it for(different versions might have different progs)? Is it for PoP or standard H2, or both?

I think both would be nice, as the Succubus is only available I think for the POP and I am not sure if folks could join between the two H2 or H2mp.
With more and more broadband connections Hexen II may now be more of an option than it was when HW was first introduced. The visual effects are better with H2 than they are HW.
I know in QuakeWorld or Quake I, they use an command like
localinfo map1 map2
localinfo map2 map3
localinfo map3 map1
in a circulatory fashion. I was thinking there would be a script with aliases, but how would that be triggered without a nextmap command (like in Q3).
I guess I ramble on. If its not much effort, just your keen knowhow, do both. I thinks would appreciate it.

localinfo works in QW, but crashes HW
Now that H2/HW source code is available, it would be possible to add a better map rotation mechanism than the strings.txt hack i did.
